Henley Brook Private Estate is now well underway with Stages 1 & 2 complete and Stage 3 under construction. Working as part of a passionate and collaborative consultant team for Mirvac, JDSi is appreciative to be part of this exciting masterplanned development. Significant effort has been rewarded by retention of mature trees, giving an established and unique feel to this new estate.

It was a great pleasure to meet our current Indigenous Scholarship Recipient, Tanaya Radecker last month. Tanaya is in her first year of a Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Science with a focus on Mechatronic Engineering Honours and Computer Science at Curtin University. We look forward to following her journey and helping make tomorrow better for a promising student.

JDSi has successfully delivered Halesworth Park for the City of Wanneroo. Located in Butler, the project comprises two sporting ovals, hardcourts, nature playground, fitness equipment, carparking and more. JDSi worked closely with the City of Wanneroo & Emerge Associates to design and deliver this multi-faceted project which provides a range of sporting options to the community and neighbouring schools.

Construction work has recently started on the Two Rocks Town Centre which will retain the King Neptune Statue. JDSi is excited to be part of the Development of this iconic site, formerly the Atlantis Marine Park.

JDSi were impressed with the presentation of the recently completed Midvale Youth Precinct adjacent Swan Active. JDSi were responsible for the earthworks, drainage and lighting design and providing construction support, with feedback that the park has had lots of community use since opening, with a mix of ages using the facility.

JDSi Consulting Engineers are excited to be working on METRONET's new Lakelands Station as part of the ADCO Constructions team. JDSi are responsible for the non-rail Civil Infrastructure Design which includes earthworks, drainage, passenger carparking and a new bus interchange. A great project that will improve local connectivity to the existing Mandurah Line.

JDSi has successfully completed Contract Administration of stages 9 and 10 at Ariella Estate for Cedar Woods. The development, located in Brabham, City of Swan, has been quick selling, which has triggered design and construction phases for upcoming stages 11 and 12. The works also involved protection of the existing flora, whilst ensuring drainage solutions are catered for the future POS.

JDSi are pleased to announce that construction at the East Green development by Frasers Property in partnership with Department of Communities is now complete. JDSi has been involved since the inception phase in 2012, through to the recent practical completion of the final stage.

The project comprised the re-development of the old Greenwood Primary school site into 81 residential lots and 2 Group housing sites as well as a stunning central public open space which emphasised the retention of the existing vegetation.

JDSi Consulting Engineers has recently been appointed to the Water Corporation Panel For Specialist Earthing Design Services.

JDSi is excited to have this opportunity to contribute to the Water Corporation’s Pipes for Perth expansion projects and water main renewal programs aimed at improving the security and reliability of Perth’s water supply.

With a team of highly experienced and formally-trained earthing engineers, JDSi prides itself in having superior capability in soil electrical resistivity testing, earthing design, earth potential rise and low frequency induction investigation for pipelines and power transmission and distribution infrastructure.

We utilise the world benchmark engineering software Current Distribution, Electromagnetic Fields, Grounding and Soil Structure Analysis (CDEGS) in all our AC Interference analysis, studies and investigations that meet rigid standards of IEEE, IEC and AS/NZS.

The JDSi Networking Drinks were held at The Merrywell after the UDIA September luncheon where Planning Minister Rita Saffioti provided an informative presentation about the development of the Medium Density Design Code for WA.

Soil resistivity testing shown here is used to determine the extent to which soil will conduct electricity. It is the single most critical factor in electrical grounding design for the protection of people and electricity supply equipment. JDSi uses world class testing equipment and the internationally recognised Wenner method for our testing

Under grid fault conditions electricity may flow directly to the general mass of earth and give rise to touch and step voltages that are unsafe for human contact. With this testing process, JDSi carefully considers the natural ground and import fill to ensure our earthing systems are designed to meet or exceed Australian Standards for safety on our projects.

Our staff were keen to help out those less fortunate during these difficult economic times so we organised an in-house food-drive for Foodbank WA. Additionally, JDSi has also made a financial donation in lieu of our mid year staff event. This will further assist Foodbank WA to continue the fantastic work they are doing to assist those in need in the Western Australian community.

Foodbank WA was established in 1994 by an initiative backed by donations from Lotteries Commission of Western Australia and Rio Tinto. In addition to a purpose-built facility at Perth Airport, Foodbank WA now also operates distribution centres in Albany, Bunbury, Geraldton, Boulder, Mandurah and Joondalup.

Foodbank WA is now helping to feed more than 40,000 people every month.

Having been part of the Spoilbank Marina consultant team since 2014, JDSi are excited to be progressing the detail design for the Port Hedland Marina Development.

Another successful JDSi volunteering session making some delicious home cooked food for those families in need as part of the ‘Home for Dinner’ program at the Ronald McDonald House in Nedlands.

Such a rewarding experience for all involved. Looking forward to future opportunities. Thanks also to head chef Louise for taking us all in, keeping us under control and helping to make it an enjoyable evening.

Khan is in his 3rd year of a 5 year journey. We look forward to following his journey and helping to make tomorrow better for a promising student.

JDSi are proud to be part of this new Cedar Woods development in Forrestdale named Solaris Private Estate. Stage 1 of this estate will be the first chapter in the urbanisation of the Anstey Keane Precinct.

JDSi is proud to announce their sponsorship of the UDIA networking drinks for 2020. The first event is this Friday and features JDSi themed beverages.

JDSi are excited to be part of an innovative road pavement solution at Port Coogee which we believe is the first of its kind in Western Australia.

Through collaboration with Frasers Property Australia, City of Cockburn and Densford Civil, a trial asphalt pavement incorporating recycled material has been installed in the laneways. The recycled material mix used included:

• Recycled soft plastic bags - 55,000 bags
• Recycled cartridge toner - 1260 cartridges
• Recycled crumb rubber from car tyres - 300 kg
• Recycled asphalt pavement - 7 tonne

This trial application will be monitored closely by JDSi and we will be looking for further applications should it be successful.

JDSi Consulting Engineers has recently been engaged by ATCO Structures & Logistics to undertake the design of earthworks, roadworks, drainage and services infrastructure for Fortescue’s Eliwana Accommodation Village. We look forward to being part of the team, delivering this impressive design and construct project.

Homeless Connect Perth is an annual one day event delivered by Volunteering WA, bringing together volunteers, community groups and businesses to provide free services, goods and support to homeless people.

JDSi is a proud supporter of this amazing program and organisation and our team were pleased to send off a few boxes of donations this week for their 2018 ‘Fill-a-box’ campaign.
